Connect for Good is a chance to take your volunteering and community engagement up a notch. Do you have questions about why people are homeless? What our community is doing about the issue? What’s working, what’s already been tried and what isn’t working? This experience will give you the chance to get answers to all those questions (and more) so that you can understand contributing factors as well as solutions that are moving people safely into permanent homes.
The commitment: Sessions will be held on Feb. 20 and 27. During these two sessions you’ll learn in-depth information about the issue of homelessness in King County, how to engage your networks to fight homelessness and get to know your fellow Emerging Leaders. Then on March 13, you’ll volunteer as a group at the Community Resource Exchange to directly help those who are experiencing homelessness.
Note that this is a multiple day volunteering opportunity and participants will need to commit to the following schedule:
Wednesday 2/20 (6pm – 8:30pm)
