Rainier Scholars is a 12-year program that offers a pathway to college graduation for hard-working, low-income students of color. We provide intensive academic preparation, leadership development and personalized support so our scholars can earn their four-year degrees and become career professionals and leaders in our community.
Young people participating in Rainier Scholars work hard in challenging academic programs, and many need tutoring support to help them through difficult classes. Rainier Scholars is seeking volunteer tutors to help students who are finding their classes particularly challenging.
- Tutoring Subject: Economics 200 (Introductory to Microeconomics Course)
Responsibilities:
- Work one-on-one with a college student to increase Economics skills
- Encourage student to solve problems on their own while helping them work through concepts
Knowledge, Skills and Experience:
- Patience and flexibility to respond to the changing needs of students
- Able to work independently with minimal supervision
- Strong understanding and ability to teach Economics
Frequency and Location:
- We are looking for an Economics tutor who has availability on Wednesday or Thursday afternoons or evenings near the University of Washington Seattle Campus.
