Don’t miss a special reading with Seattle Black Panther co-founder Aaron Dixon at the Northwest African American Museum.

Aaron Dixon is one of the co-founders of the Seattle Black Panther chapter. On January 31, he will be discussing his book “My People Are Rising: Memoir of a Black Panther Party Captain” and covering the legacy of the Black Panthers and its relevance in today’s political climate, including imagining what Black radical imagination might look like in the 21st century and beyond. Free and open to the public. Doors open at 6 p.m.

Volunteer duties:

  1. Greeter and counter: You'll be the warm welcome at NAAM for this event. You will be given a click counter for attendance.
  2. Wayfinder: You will direct guests to the event location and answer questions about the location of the restroom and galleries
  3. Membership: You will have membership information at hand to give to guests and to direct them to the purchasing area
