Join the Green Kirkland Partnership and the University of Washington Restoration Ecology Network to help restore the forest at North Rose Hill Woodlands Park in Kirkland!
Volunteers will spend morning with a mix of restoration activities which may include removing invasive plants like English ivy and Himalayan blackberry, spreading mulch over cleared areas, and planting native trees, shrubs and ground covers.
No experience is necessary and we encourage volunteers of all ages to join us!
What to Bring:
* Closed Toed Shoes Required (ex: tennis shoes, sneakers or boots but no sandals)
* Clothes that can get dirty
* Rain gear, Warm Layers, Long Pants/Long Sleeves
* Full water bottle & Snacks
* Tools, training and gloves are provided
Meeting point:
The meeting location is just east of the playground in the southern part of the park. (From NE 100 St, enter the park at the entrance located between 125th Ave NE and 126th Ave NE and follow the trail south as shown on the map below. 0.4 mile or 4 minute walk.)
Parking:
Parking is available on the street at NE 100th ST.
Youth Volunteering:
Volunteers age 14-17 attending the event without a parent or guardian must bring a waiver signed by a parent or guardian to the event with them. Volunteers under 14 must be accompanied by an adult.
