Plymouth has been asked to be a beneficiary of Microsoft’s annual 5K Run/Walk – the second biggest in Washington state! The event has historically raised over $500,000 for three community partners, and we’re excited to be included with other great local non-profits – KEXP, the Boys and Girls Club of Bellevue, and the Crohn’s and Colitis Foundation.
We need a group of volunteers to help set up and tear down the course, as well as staff the water station and provide various course support day of at their Redmond campus on Friday, June 21.
There are various times/commitments for volunteers. Please note that times can overlap:
- 10:30-11:30: About 10 volunteers
- 11:30-12:30: About 24 volunteers
- 12:30-2:00: About 12 volunteers
Here are the ways you can volunteer:
- Course Support: Setup/Teardown/On-Course support
- Course Sweeper: The designated last person in the race to signal when all runners/walkers have passed
- Water Station: Setup station, hand out water, clean-up after
- Heat Signage: Hold signs for one of the starting heats
- Corral Steward: Hold a rope across the sidewalk to keep starting area clear of pedestrians and runners/walkers contained
