A P-Patch community garden is a space where neighbors come together to grow community and steward - plan, plant, and maintain -a piece of open space. Community gardens are gathering places that strengthen networks through cooperative ventures; a source of pride among residents; a visible product of land stewardship and a healthier urban environment. Currently there is a total of 90 P-Patch Community Gardens throughout Seattle.
Rainier Vista Sunrise P-Patch is unique in its own way. It is located at the intersection of 33rd Ave S and S Oregon St. This garden has thrived, acting as a respite not only gardeners but also for an entire neighborhood of bikers, skaters, dog-walkers, and baby-walkers.
They need your help to keep this garden beautiful and healthy for all to enjoy. They hope to receive your day of caring on the following main task:
- We need help remove weeds in the pathway, lay down cardboard and wood chip on top.
