Description

Projects for a Civil Society is recruiting board members!

Our work touches everything that matters! We are experts at creating empathy, compassion and community. Our work is also powerful for trauma recovery.  We run intense 3 day experiential workshops. We have helped former white supremacists and gang members leave these hate groups. We help prison inmates reduce the violence and stress in their lives. We help veterans reduce the impacts of their PTSD. We help build empathic communities in schools. We are working on court diversion programs for youth and adults. We work internationally through the State Department having worked with delegations from over 30 countries, including Afghanistan, Pakistan, Iraq, Syria, Nigeria, Colombia, Israel, Palestine, Mexico, Myanmar and more.

The curriculum we use is being used by a network of organizations in over 50 countries dealing with such issues as trauma recovery in Rwanda, removing child soldiers from paramilitaries and guerillas in Colombia, rape camps in the Congo, trafficked girls in Nepal, refugee camps, drug recovery efforts. It is in prisons and schools around the world. Help us find more places we are needed locally!

Our group has tripled our work in the last few years and is looking now at doubling that again. We need to increase our organizational professionalism, funding and name recognition  - and seek board members who can help us with these tasks.
