Deliver Summer Meals to Families at Rainier Vista (Columbia City)  Get Connected Icon

Description

More than 10,000 low-income students in Seattle rely on free and reduced price meals during the school year. As a result of the COVID-19 school closures, many low-income families in our community have struggled to put food on the table for their children. United Way is partnering with the YMCA of Greater Seattle and Farestart to provide meals for more than 3,000 kids at Seattle Housing Authority apartment complexes.

We need your help to deliver summer meals to homebound families at Rainier Vista. As a meals volunteer, you will pick up meals from the site address provided, drive or walk with the meals to a family's home, and leave the meals on the doorstep through a no-contact delivery. We provide PPE (masks and gloves) for all volunteers, and practice social distancing at all times on site.

Volunteers are needed Monday - Friday, from 10:30 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. Please sign up for all shifts you would like to volunteer for. Volunteers who are only available one day a week or one time are still welcome to join us!

PLEASE NOTE: If you sign-up and DO NOT receive an email from shasiterainiervista@gmail.com with the subject line: "Confirmation Email - Location, Date" please DO NOT show up for the shift. Even though you have signed-up, and our team is working hard to keep up with demand, we need to make sure that our on-site contacts are aware of staff each day to serve everyone correctly. This would help us greatly in our process. Thank you so much for your help!
