Description

We'd welcome help reaching out to incarcerated students who are requesting support to pursue their postsecondary education. Outreach includes communicating with prisoners via postal mail with responses to their requests.

We will be working on our food distribution and student outreach.

FOOD:

Validating service roster

EDUCATION:

We'll be scanning letters and uploading requests to Salesforce, as well as updating students records in the database.

Additionally, we'll have some volunteers generating social media content by searching the internet for relevant items to re-tweet, re-post, and engage with.

We will be available via Google Hangout all day to train volunteers and answer questions.

We're excited to be part of musician John Legend's inaugural cohort of "Unlocked Futures," and you can watch our Roundtable Discussion here.

You also can read about the PSF in "Opening Prison Doors," which was recently published in the Stanford Social Innovation Review. And watch Executive Director Dirk Van Velzen's winning Social Venture Partners Fast Pitch talk.

Finally, feel free to review our 2018 Annual Report.

Contact Dirk Van Velzen, dirk@prisonscholars.org with any questions and/or if you'd like additional information.
