Description

Immanuel Community Services  (ICS) is a small non-profit in the South Lake Union neighborhood of Seattle. We have been serving the community for 40+ years, providing services for those experiencing hunger, homelessness, and addiction. We serve upwards of 15,000 people every year through our four programs, but we only have about 3.5 full time employees.

Ever since the pandemic hit, things have been crazy here at ICS. We haven't had the capacity to do some of our "regular" tasks, since we have been focusing on keeping our programs operating, while ensuring the health and safety of our guests, volunteers, residents, and staff. For Day of Caring, we would love to have a few volunteers come and help with a general cleaning and reorganizing of our Food Bank! This is a large task that we can't do without the help of some awesome, enthusiastic volunteers!

Get Connected Icon Q: What safety measures will you have in place for this project?
A: People are required to wear masks. Since we will be handling food, people will also be required to wear gloves. We can provide both, if folks don't have them. For most of the time, folks can likely be outside and easily stay socially distant. To ensure everyone can properly socially distance, we cannot accept more than 5 volunteers.
