The Northwest Railway Museum is excited to welcome volunteers for Day Out With Thomas™, one of our largest and most popular family events of the year! This beloved summer tradition brings Thomas the Tank Engine to life for thousands of children and families — and we can’t do it without the help of our amazing volunteers.
Event Dates (Fridays–Sundays):
- July 10–12
- July 17–19
- July 24–26
Volunteer Roles:
Grounds Crew:
Help with crowd control, activity stations, and guest assistance throughout the event site.
Shifts: 8:00am–6:00pm (partial shifts available)
Train Crew – Conductor’s Assistants:
Assist conductors and help passengers during train rides. No prior experience required; new volunteers are welcome.
Shifts: 7:15am–7:00pm
Volunteers earn community service hours and support a fun, family-focused event. Friendly attitude, reliability, and comfort interacting with the public are required.
