Come join friends and volunteers on the (first weekend day following) the International Day of Forests!
On each International Day of Forests, volunteers are encouraged to undertake local efforts to organize activities to celebrate and raise awareness of the importance of all types of forests.
We will be working to restore a madrone forest, removing blackberries and other "bully" plants and ensuring that recent (and established!) plantings continue to thrive.
We ask that all volunteers that attend provide their info for event attendance tracking purposes, please. it helps us get more grant funding for more resoration events and community involvement opportunities!
WHAT TO WEAR
Please wear and bring with you what you will need to be comfortable spending a few hours working outside. Dress in layers for the weather, and consider bringing additional dry, insulating, or waterproof layers.
Remember to bring water, sunscreen, sunglasses, a hat, or any other
accessories to protect yourself from the elements.
Remember that blackberry thorns are sharp and can snag clothing, and that the terrain may be uneven and/or wet.
