Celebrate Arbor Day with Mercer Island and Mountains to Sound Greenway
We’re celebrating our 7th year as a Tree City with our annual Arbor Day planting event! Come plant trees and shrubs in Luther Burbank Park on the newly constructed south shoreline trail.
To honor the new trail and Arbor there will be a commemorative tree planting happening at 9:45. Lunch will be provided after the event a 1pm!
Get your hands in the dirt, celebrate the trees of the city, work alongside neighbors and friends, and eat snacks! No experience necessary; gloves and tools are provided.
This project is funded by the King County Flood Control District, King County Wastewater Treatment Division, King Conservation District and proceeds from the King County Proposition No. 1 Parks Levy approved by King County voters in August 2019.
When: Saturday, October 21st 10am-1pm
Where: Luther Burbank Park, South Shoreline Trail. Limited parking will be available in the South Parking Lot, additional parking available in North Parking Lot.
What to bring: Dress for the weather in clothes you don’t mind getting dirty (think: long pants, boots or sneakers). Bring a water bottle. Small snacks, gloves, and tools will be provided.
