Description

The Furniture Repair Bank rescues worn, torn, and broken furniture from the landfill, restores its value, and provides it to people in need. Learn some new skills or utilize ones you already have while reducing waste and supporting your community.

  • No prior experience or skills are required to volunteer. We teach the skills you'll need!
  • Activities may include painting, staining, and sanding wood, so please dress accordingly for potentially messy work
  • PPE such as masks, goggles, and gloves are provided.
  • Closed-toed shoes are required.
  • We work in a warehouse environment and sometimes work outside in covered areas, so please dress for the weather.
  • We have light snacks and refreshments for volunteers and a water cooler if you would like to bring a refillable bottle.

Commitment is flexible and volunteers are welcome to join us for a couple of hours or an entire day.

We usually respond to volunteers within 24 hours. If you have not received an email response from us within a few days, please check your spam folder. You may also email us directly at volunteer@repairbank.org.

Teens ages 14 to 17 are welcome to join provided a parent or guardian provides permission on their volunteer form. Younger kids ages 11 to 13 are welcome to volunteer along with their parent or guardian.

For more information about our program and to get started right away, visit our website at https://www.repairbank.org/volunteer to complete our volunteer form.
