The Royal Room, Columbia City

Seward Park Audubon Center is pleased to welcome photographer Tom Reese and contributing authors Eric Wagner and James Rasmussen to the Royal Room to present their new book, Once and Future River: Reclaiming the Duwamish. Seattle's only river has been central to the people of this region before and after settlement. Declared a Superfund site in 2001, efforts are underway to reclaim and restore the rivers health. For nearly twenty years Reese has worked to capture images of the Duwamish landscape. His photographs and Wagner and Rasmussen's poignant essays will help you see the Duwamish in a new light; you may even fall in love with this river that still holds so much promise. Presentation followed by Q&A. Books will be available for purchase and signing at the event.

This is part of Seward Park Audubon Center's Urban Naturalist Series connecting authors, artists and naturalists with the southeast Seattle community.
