Support your community by helping individuals and families access free, high‑quality tax preparation services through the IRS‑sponsored Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA) program. As a VITA Volunteer with the Washington West African Center, you will assist community members—especially immigrants, low‑income households, and English‑language learners—in filing accurate tax returns and accessing eligible credits such as the Earned Income Tax Credit (EITC) and Child Tax Credit (CTC).
Volunteers may serve as tax preparers, intake specialists, interpreters, or quality reviewers depending on interest and training. No prior tax experience is required—free IRS‑certified training is provided.
