We are Lake City Seniors, a partner site of Sound Generations. We are growing a new and exceptionally welcoming intercultural senior center at the Lake City Community Center in partnership with Seattle Parks & Recreation, Hunger Intervention Program, Sea Mar Community Health Clinics and Chinese Information & Service Center.
Our program offers free and low-cost activities (in English, Spanish, Mandarin & Cantonese) and a hot meal to older adults every Monday, Wednesday and Friday.
We are in need of volunteer assistance to support the morning staff person to set-up our Snack Table, Resources Table and Front Desk. This role also includes being available at the Front Desk to offer a friendly greeting, direct participants to activities, answer questions and be open to having funny and interesting conversations. :)
The shift days are Wednesdays and Fridays, either 8:30am -12pm or 11:30am – 3pm and includes a free lunch. We are flexible and can work with your schedule so if the above shifts don't work, let's talk to see what does!
All that we ask is that you are open to working in a diverse community, friendly to all guests and flexible with having some down time at the desk. No experience required, all training will be provided.
