This urban forest provides a neighborhood walkway between South Beacon Hill and Rainier Beach, connecting neighbors to light rail and offering the community a natural area to walk, explore, play, and learn.
For MLK Day, we'll be working outdoors, getting new plants in the ground, spreading woodchips around new trees, and clearing out invasive weeds, to help create a future forest for the community for generations. Find out more at www.facebook.com/eastduwamish
Street parking is available, although the site is also accessible by light rail, bus, and bike. We'll provide tools and gloves, just bring yourselves, your passion for making a difference, snacks, and water bottles. Wear close-toed shoes and clothes that can get dirty.
