SeaLife Response, Rehabilitation, and Research (SR3) and other local partners are hosting a beach cleanup event on Saturday, September 19 in honor of International Coastal Cleanup Day!
Marine animals are increasingly threatened by human impacts on their ocean home, including trash and discarded fishing gear which can lead to life-threatening entanglements. You can help protect local marine animals by signing up for a two-hour shift to assist with shore cleanup, marine debris sorting, or even as a diver to help with underwater cleanup. (Divers must be Advanced Open Water Certified or above.)
SPACE IS LIMITED due to COVID restrictions. If interested, click "respond" and we will follow up with more registration information.
Please use your personal mask (we'd love if they were reusable) and maintain social distancing during your shift. We will have gloves and hand sanitizer available and equipment will be disinfected between each use. We also recommend you wear waterproof shoes, and don't forget your sunscreen and water!
